Berlin-based Colombian artist Brayan Valenzuela continues to expand into the realms of brutal and
industrial techno fueled by a fervour towards analogue hardware on his latest release. Valenzuela has
dropped tracks on the likes of Time Traveler’s co-owned imprint
PLS.UK and the arts collective Detroit
Underground, while seeing Draag, Vlaysin and WarinD joining his 0000 label.
‘Last Day’ pulses from the off with decayed and overdriven 808 style kicks, haunting vox loops,
screeching stabs and snappy open-hats before ‘Why’ reverberates with a growling synth, slicing laser
notes, rattling percussion and thudding low-end right. ‘Sweet Shit’ then goes on a bit-crushed tip with
glitchy cymbals and a slick and bouncing acid key pattern.
‘LLMM’ continues the upfront techno journey with saturated bass drums, cantering rides, a half-time
atmospheric break and tight hi-hats. Finally, French producer, live performer and HANDS artist Crystal
Geometry provides an otherworldly remix which shudders with white noise crunches, rhythmic subs,
distorted high frequency crashes and a bubbling acidic synth line.
